Bard & Boon was born out of a conversation over a glass of wine about our need to escape our hectic lifestyles and our mutual love of hearing other people’s stories.
A seasonal storytelling publication, it is a celebration of individuals and personalities, in any shape or form; born out of a passion for learning and understanding the lives, fears and aspirations of other people like us, and untangling hidden talents and words of wisdom from their experiences.
A collection of stories from a series of individuals who are in some way connected, providing the reader with a variety of experiences, unusual insights, and unique perspectives on their lives and the world we live in.
Featuring an original short story by Frances Wright.

The launch event
@ The Lacehouse, Nottingham
To celebrate the launch of Volume 1, we hosted an event at The Lacehouse in Nottingham, a popular events venue.
As well as the opportunity to flick through and purchase the magazine (which came with a free glass of wine) and merch such as tote bags and postcards, we wanted to engage our audience in a more fun and direct way. We set up a ‘story catcher’, where visitors could write down a personal story or anecdote (free or based on a prompt that we provided) and hang them to one of the threads hanging from the ceiling. These stories would then be part or inform the next volume of the magazine.
